“And so the two young heroes embarked on their first grand adventure in the great new world” – Some Adventure Story… probably… (Or at the very least, the two adolescent girls decided to take a trip to New Orleans on their own dime.).
Planning a trip, any trip, on the budget of two college age girls working just barely above minimum wage jobs is never easy; especially when the trip includes attending a music festival and finding a place to stay during a time when prices get jacked up across the board, but that is exactly what I (and my partner in crime for this endeavor) decided to do. This marks the beginning of my travel adventures, a trip to New Orleans during one of the busiest seasons in the city, Halloween.
It all started with Voodoo Fest. Voodoo Fest is a annual music festival that takes place in New Orleans every Halloween weekend, it often features a variety of artists from new up and coming musicians to popular well established performers. And it was this event that spurred the trip to NOLA. For quite some time I had been sitting on my ass, dreaming of travel and grand adventures without actually making the effort to just go, but with the help of a good friend in a similar situation we took the leap and bought tickets to the festival. Now we were already a hundred dollars in, and my dreams to travel became a very expensive reality.
